These were the first people we met as we came off the plane at Ulaanbaatar. Ulziika is our translator and Batbold runs the show here at the mission. He came up to me and asked if I needed a taxi. He had a big grin on his face
because he was messing with me. So of course I responded with "huh?" I
didn't know he was part of the mission. I thought that was kind of mean but
I wasn't at my best right then.
This is what I wanted! I was soooooo sick and had spent the night on the plane crawling over a snoring Mongolian man to get to the toilet.
This toilet became my best friend for the first couple of days here in Ulaanbaatar. This is the toilet in our apartment. I love it.
But the rose is in peak form. He went to the store to get me gatorade and
found roses for sale. What a sweetheart. The doctor is "in".
This is a pretty good looking flag. There are little pieces of memorabilia
collected by previous tenants (doctors have been in this apartment for the
past 10 years) and I'm feeling quite patriotic towards Mongolia because this flag greets me every time I come into the apartment.
The doctor is definitely "in". This is his new office and doesn't he look official!
We have finally arrived (it took the whole first week) and are getting settled. The office is pretty well equipped and as you can see he even has an exam table. Everything is going to be ok here. Thank goodness.
